Upcoming Events and Important Information

 

  • Douglas High School will be closed February 19-23 for Winter break. Classes will resume on Monday, February 26, and that will be a B day.
  • A letter from Principal Girdner introducing SafeVoice. You can find answers to some of the frequently asked questions concerning SafeVoice here.
  • SPECIAL TESTING DAY SCHEDULED:   Douglas High School will be following a special schedule for testing on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.  This day will be set aside for all JUNIORS to take the ACT test that is a part of the graduation requirement for the state of Nevada.  This will also be an opportunity for any Senior who has not passed the Science Literacy Competency and Career Notetaker; also required for the class of 2018.  All other students including Freshmen and Sophomores, will NOT need to attend school that day unless invited by a counselor for remediation opportunities.  Seniors who have passed the Science Literacy Competency will not need to attend school on this day.
  • Effective immediately: Douglas High School has set up a designated email address for attendance issues only. This email address (Attendance Email) should be used for all attendance related issues including: Illness, Excused Absences, Tardies, Early Dismissals, etc. Please use this email address going forward so that we can best help you.
  • March 3, 2018 at the CVIC Hall at 6:00 p.m. DHS Performing Arts and Talent Showcase. $7 presale (2/$10), $10 at the door.

  • The class of 2018 will graduate on Thursday, June 7 at 5:30 p.m.

  • Local History and Civics Places of Interest. The DHS Social Studies Department has created a list of their favorite local historical places of interest. Check back often as the teachers update this periodically.

Own a Piece of the Courtyard ~

We are now offering personalized pavers for you to mark special occasions.  Graduation, birthdays, holidays, special dates in your DHS history.  Here is an opportunity for you, your family, or your business to be part of Douglas High School for years to come.  Get a piece of the Block!  Become a donor to our Block D paver project.
Prices range from $30-$60, and your paver will be highly visible in the courtyard adjacent to the STEM building and main entrance of the school (see pictures below).  For full details and to design and order your own DHS paver, visit the following link: DHS Paver Project.
Funds will help support the initial installation of the paver project and student needs and activities.
