Upcoming Events and Important Information

 

  • Mountain Madness is this Friday, May 26. $5 entry fee for Scholarship programs.
    • Powder Puff football game ~ 6:00
    • Milk Chug ~ 7:30
    • Tug O War ~ 8:00
    • Lip Sync Contest ~ Immediately following the Tug O War.
  • At the beginning of this year, we had you help us out with our new SunSmart Schools program by participating in PRE-program online surveys. It is time for us to ask for your help once again by completing the POST-program online surveys. There is a survey for students and a separate survey for parents. Please take a moment to complete the surveys below prior to June 2. Thank you.
  • 2017 Finals schedule
    • Monday, June 5; Finals 1 & 3.
    • Tuesday, June 6; Finals 2 & 4.
    • Wednesday, June 7; Final 5 & 6.
    • 7th period finals will be given prior to June 5.
    • On these days classes will be dismissed at 11:22 and lunch will be available at this time.
  • Graduation information can be found here. If you have not yet ordered your cap, gown, and tassel, contact Josten's at 775/626-4944 or email Mark Lee at mark.lee@jostens.com.
  • The District wrote to the State for an appeal to our make-up days because our schools have hours built into the schedules which exceed the State requirement. We were granted that appeal and do not need to use the contingency days to make up lost time due to weather. The last day of school for students will be June 7.
  • The 2017-2018 DHS Course Catalog is available here. Updates are being made so please be sure to check for the latest version.
  • Local History and Civics Places of Interest. The DHS Social Studies Department has created a list of their favorite local historical places of interest. Check back often as the teachers update this periodically.
  • The Class of 2017 will graduate on Wednesday, June 7 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Own a Piece of the Courtyard ~

    We are now offering personalized pavers for you to mark special occasions.  Graduation, birthdays, holidays, special dates in your DHS history.  Here is an opportunity for you, your family, or your business to be part of Douglas High School for years to come.  Get a piece of the Block!  Become a donor to our Block D paver project.
    Prices range from $30-$60, and your paver will be highly visible in the courtyard adjacent to the new STEM building and main entrance of the school (see pictures below).  For full details and to design and order your own DHS paver, visit the following link: DHS Paver Project
    Funds will help support the initial installation of the paver project and student needs and activities.
