DHS's Computer Science and Digital Game Development Programs have been granted a CTE Competitive Grant, leading to significant upgrades.

New computer tables, ergonomic task chairs, and three supercomputing rendering stations have been added to bolster students' learning journey and special project capabilities, amplifying their educational experience.

Furthermore, the State Competitive CTE grant has provided DHS with essential resources, including new welders and a pan and shear brake for the Welding program, as well as modern stovetops, ovens, and grills to enhance the Culinary Arts program.

Douglas High School continues to shine, empowering students and enriching their CTE experiences through innovation and excellence.

DCSD's Summer School Program for grades 7-12 has come to an end, and what a successful journey it has been!

196 students completed courses and we are grateful for the dedication and support of our dedicated team of 25 teachers, 15 teachers & paraprofessionals for ESY, 2 counselors, 1 social worker, and a social work intern. Kudos to our DCSD students and staff for a job well done! #DCSDisEPIC #SummerSchoolSchool23

JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge1
Hailey Sebahar

From 17-21 June, approximately 140 JROTC cadets from northern NV, including 12 cadets from DHS, attended the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) based out of Galena High School.

Cadets participated in the following training events: high ropes course, rappelling, kayaking, and water survival/drown proofing. Cadets also rotated through leadership positions and were provided formal feedback on their skills in leading other cadets.  Select cadets were able to take an orientation flight in a CH-47 helicopter from the Nevada Army National Guard.  Many friendships were made across school boundaries.
