    SCHOOL CLOSURE UPDATE Governor Sisolak announced in a press conference on April 21 an extension to the school closure and continuation of distance learning for the remainder of this school year

    April 6, 2020 Update

    April 1, 2020: Per Governor Sisolak's mandate, schools will remain closed through April 30, 2020.  We will observe Spring Break April 13-17.

    Parents, there is a group of citizens in town that are having banners created for our seniors and working to have them hung on light posts in the town of Minden and Gardnerville.  If you would like your senior to be honored in this way you will need to email your graduates Senior picture to   wendy.dunbar23@gmail.com  no later than 5/18/2020 and put DHS 2020 Senior in the subject line.

    For those Seniors who were unable to get their signs Saturday, Jeanne has placed them outside her office at1320 US 395 in Gardnerville.  It is the stand alone building near the Subway on the south end of town and across the highway from Rite Aid!

    Caps and gowns will be here in middle May, 3 to 4 weeks away and then we will communicate with the kids the pick up process.

    A message to our students

    The staff of DHS wants to let you know that we miss being with you and hope you are well.  Take a moment to watch the video we put together. 

    To the students of Douglas High School: We are joining schools from around the country and starting tonight April 10, 2020 and every weekday night from 8:00 to 9:00 pm we will burn our stadium lights for our students, teachers, community, and especially the class of 2020, as a symbol of hope and an assurance that you are on our hearts and minds.  Our buildings may be closed...however, we are always here!  #BeTheLight.

    It is important that your student has joined the DHS AP Google Classroom and will join an AP Google Meet ​tomorrow afternoon (April 30) as scheduled in the DHS AP Google Classroom.  It is imperative all AP students are able to receive the information posted in this Google Classroom in order to be ready to take AP exams.  If you have any questions, please reach out to your student's AP teacher.

    DMV Attendance Requirements

    DMV Attendance forms: Please allow 24 hours for the form to be generated. In order to receive a DMV Attendance form, you must have attended at least 90% of the Current semester class days. DMV will not accept faxed copies so please plan on picking up the form from the main office between 7:00-3:30.

    Lost and Found

    The school does not assume responsibility for lost, stolen, or confiscated items, which may include money, electronic equipment, PE clothes, or school-issued supplies. There is a lost and found box located at the end of the counseling hallway that should be checked for lost items.

    Notice

    -We are not able to release students for pick up without a written request or a parent/guardian coming in to sign the student out.  You can email a request to dhsattendance@dcsd.k12.nv.us

    -There will be a $25 fee assessed on any returned check.

    -Should you find anything that needs to be corrected or updated, please contact Karan Seelbinder at kseelbin@dcsd.k12.nv.us
